Exploring Utrecht (lunch included)
For those of you who arrive in Utrecht before 13:00 on Thursday, 8 July, the organisation will gather for a lunch at 13:00 in one of the nice restaurants in downtown Utrecht. From there local organisers Roger Adan and Willem Hendrik Gispen will take you on a tour to explore the medieval city, its canals, ending at the meeting's registration and opening reception. Utrecht University is our Alma Mater and WHG was born in this city of Bishops, knowledge and culture; the organisers hope to be entertaining hosts to the city of Utrecht. In order to join the trip, please remember to add 35 EUR when processing your payment.

Conference Dinner
The Conference dinner will take place on Saturday, 10 July, at 19:30. To attend this dinner, please remember to add 75 EUR when processing your payment.

Getting there

From Schiphol Airport it takes about half an hour to travel by direct train (4 times an hour) to Utrecht Central Station. For time tables see: http://www.ns.nl/cs/Satellite/travellers.

If you booked a hotel in Utrecht you can take a taxi (side of platform 1) or bus to your hotel. NH Utrecht Hotel at the Jaarbeursplein can easily be reached by foot, since it is near the station. The Malie Hotel (busstop Oorsprongpark) and NH Utrecht Center Hotel (busstop Janskerkhof) can be reached by city bus 11, direction Uithof UMC WKZ (take exit "Stadsbussen" at the station). Bus ticket strips or the OV-chipkaart (a new means of payment for transportation, which will replace the bus ticket strips) can be bought at the offices of GVU ("stadsbussen" platform) or Connexion ("streekbussen" platform). Bus ticket strips can also be bought with the driver. Ask the driver how many strips you need for your trip.

How to get to Hotel De Biltsche Hoek, De Bilt:

• By bus
1. Take exit "streekbussen" of the railway station, and proceed to platform "A".
2. There are 4 lines going to De Bilt (#50, #52, #53, #74).
3. For actual information look at the journey planner: http://journeyplanner.9292.nl/ where you can plan also your trip from the hotel to the symposium location (Ottone, Kromme Nieuwe Gracht 62, Utrecht).
4. Get off at bus-stop " Tunneltje De Bilt". Ask the driver to notify you when you arrive. (After leaving Utrecht, you will cross under the highway (A27), then pass a petrol-station, and a park on your left. Now it is time to press the "stop" button.)
5. Cross the road taken by the bus, (use the tunnel). Follow narrow road ("Kapelweg") till the end. Turn right ("Dorpsstraat"). Cross the traffic lights and continue straight ahead in the direction Zeist ("De Holle Bilt"). After approx. 500 meters you see at your right hand Hotel De Biltsche Hoek (in total a 10 minutes walk).
• You can also take a taxi. You will find them on the platform 1 side of the station
